The Hammerandtongs is a great all round carbon road bike, but most at home on quick, rolling rides. 

The matt coloured frame is made from light high modulus carbon (high carbon content), giving a very strong and durable construction. The front end position is set slightly higher, coupled with thinner shock absorbing rear seat stays, which in combination provides a more comfortable ride whilst maintaining the speed and efficiency associated with a typical road racing wheel base length.
 
The Shimano Di2 electronic gears work with rapid precision, with huge range on each charge (usually recharge 2/3 times annually from a USB lead into small junction box beneath the handlebar stem). For the uninitiated, switching from standard mechanical to Di2 is always a case of 'once bitten forever smitten'. The gearing has a broad range 11-28 rear cassette and semi compact 52/36 chain set, this provides huge choice for easier climbing or fast descending.
 
The finishing kit is all oversized, stiff lightweight alloy componentry. Matching cork tape and a comfort road saddle finishes the Hammerandtongs to present a stunning bike in the form of this racing thoroughbred.

The Hammerandtongs is a great bike for near on most road use, but is most at home in competition. Our aim was to bring a top quality frame together with an aligned, cutting edge electronic gears, to a price which was better by far than the competition.


The bike is designed to allow a more sustainable riding position while still being able to achieve high power output and faster speeds. In line with our in house bike fitting, we optimise the ride by selecting the size parameters of groupset and finishing kit to best match rider height at each incremental size of frame.

Pearson have been developing ways of fitting riders to bikes to increase comfort and efficiency for many years. We have capitalised on the hard data we record from the regular Pearson Precision Bike Fitting sessions to design a Pearson 'House' geometry for this and other models. The aim is to provide maximum efficiency in the riding position whilst retaining comfort, optimising each rider so the fullest potential is realised. This means building bikes around how most riders work best, the right fit for each type of our bike models.
