WHY CHOOSE PHYSIOTHERAPY AT PEARSON?
Our Physiotherapy practice is known as specialist in the treatment of cycling injuries and equally caters for triathlon and running injuries. We are also proficient in other sports injuries as well as everyday aches and pains commonly treated with physiotherapy.
We love bikes. We love cycling. We genuinely get excited about cyclng injuries (in a non-sadistic way!) and being located in a bike shop, have everything at our fingertips. We ride bikes, we also understand what’s involved in your sport/hobby/obsession, from the mechanics of pedalling, the equipment, the training involved, to cycling culture itself. Ditto to Triathlon and running - we have a soft spot for those who choose to participate in endurance sports.
WHY physiotherapy over other therapies?
Physiotherapists are first-contact practitioners with highly developed clinical reasoning skills, able to provide thorough assessments and diagnosis. The scope of this practice is wide, with our experience ranging from working in small practices to large hospitals, broadening medical knowledge and experience. We have professional contacts with a variety of local Consultants and Specialists, and are able to identify if clients require onward referral.
All Physiotherapists are required to partake in Continuous Professional Development and will be up to date with the latest research and evidence. Furthermore, our physios have extensive post-graduate training in areas such as acupuncture, Pilates, biomechanics and sports medicine. Finally, their qualifications, training and skills are recognised by health insurance companies who are willing to endorse and fund Physiotherapy.
All the basics of general physiotherapy with the added advantage of focussed sports injury expertise, fully equipped treatment rooms, Cyclefit analysis studios, pilates and rehabilitation room. Our physiotherapists also work closely with our Pearson Cyclefit technicians when dealing with cycle related injuries and problems. We offer joint sessions to ensure all aspects of cycling are assessed. This combination of expertise is unique to Pearson and has made us forerunners in this form of treatment.
We can also assess individual cycling style on client's own bikes. We will analyse position and identify any faulty movement patterns, teach correct posture and techniques. Our Physiotherapists develop treatment plans, rehab programmes, and provide ongoing advice and feedback to aid training. Their aim is to return patients back to activity/fitness whilst minimising the potential for recurring or future injury.
Our clinic is located on the first floor at the Pearson Performance shop in 232 Upper Richmond Road Sheen SW14 6AG.
An initial assessment will help us to determine your problem and a treatment plan developed, which will be implemented in follow-up appointments, the number and duration will be dependent on your individual situation.

Our job is to help you understand the problem, as well provide treatment for your recovery!
Nicole graduated from the University of Sydney in 1998. After gaining experience in the NSW public hospital system for 2 years, Nicole left for the UK to work and travel. On returning to Australia in 2003, she took up the position of Senior Orthopaedic Physiotherapist at Wollongong Hospital. Realising that she preferred the London lifestyle, she came back in 2005 and has stayed ever since!
Nicole worked for 2 years in NHS outpatient departments and orthopaedic wards, before moving on to London Bridge Hospital. She spent 5 years working in the physiotherapy department of this renowned private hospital, treating primarily a city-based clientele and closely working with some of the top consultants and specialists, before setting up at Pearson at the beginning of the year.
Nicole has completed post-graduate training in Acupuncture and Clinical Pilates, as well as attending many Sports Medicine Conferences, including the recent Ironman conference in Kona, Hawaii. She has a special interest in cycling, triathlon and running, but also loves a good injury and problem solving!
In her spare time, Nicole can usually be found on (one of) her bikes; she still enjoys travelling, but these days tends to be accompanied by a swimsuit, bike and trainers. She caught the triathlon bug in 2006, and realised that she was more suited to “long and slow” events. Highlights have been qualifying and competing in the 70.3 World Championships in 2009, and completing her first Ironman in 2011.
She now concentrates on road riding, competes with the Pearson women’s racing team, and continues to run on a regular basis.
