Pearson Objects in Motion

Pearson House Geometry.
Pearson have been developing ways of fitting riders to bikes to increase comfort and efficiency for many years. Through our Precision Bike Fitting we have established the Pearson 'In House' geometry for this and other models.

The idea is to provide maximum comfort in the riding position whilst retaining highest efficiency in the ride. Our aim is to optimise each rider so the fullest potential is realised. This doesn't necessarily mean flat backed aero positions, more of how most riders work best, the right fit for the required type of riding.

The Frame:
For the OIM (Objects in Motion) we have a more generous head tube size, balanced the seat and front end angles and designed tube lengths per incremental size to provide a race like, yet sustainable riding position, good for day long rides to quicker spins out when time is limited.

The choice of tube set is high grade lightweight triple butted titanium, with oversize lower head tube combined with full carbon fork. The overall design is aimed to provide the qualities of past popular Pearson designs - the silky smoothness of a steel frame with the responsiveness of the finest carbon bikes in existence today.

The OIM is a far cry from many of the disc (gravel) bikes present in the market - the tyre clearances are as tight as any performance road race bike, and with advanced hydraulic disc technology now available, provides superb braking and feel in all conditions.

We are able to build a complete OIM bike with a choice of customer or house specifications. The example shown here is one which we recommend as well aligned to the quality of the frame, utilising the latest in product on the market. We have developed the Pearson 'In House' geometry for all of our metal bikes using the experience and data collected from the few thousand bike fits we have completed! We are very close to what so many customers are needing in terms of position and due to the size of our company can respond to this very quickly.

 

There are only a handful of bicycle companies who seem to be taking precision fitting seriously into design. The object of our In House geometry is to create tube angles and lengths which optimise rider position at each incremental frame size. In 99% of cases this avoids the need for custom geometry and effectively provides a more affordable off the peg solution for those looking for the latest in precision bike fit and bike design.

 

We designed the structure of the frame set with efficiency in mind, but to give a silky smooth ride. Built with a broad gauge triple butted down tube which rotates 90 degrees from the head tube through to the bottom bracket for maximum strength and stiffness. Coupled with butted seat, top tube and chain stays, this combination is the mainstay for effective power transfer. The thinner seat stays allow for a level of shock absorption from rougher road surfaces to give a smoother ride not normally associated with performance bikes.
