FIRING UP THE FORGE

Our latest open evening saw the culmination of more than 160 years of cycling knowledge (not to mention two years of intense design work), with the official launch of the Pearson Forge at our London HQ. A bike designed for all types of road riding, most types of rider and offering the most data-driven frame geometry we have ever created.

The difference between Forge and the countless other bikes we have designed in the past lies in the application of our accumulated bike-fit data built directly into Forge’s frame geometry. Of course, every Pearson bike is designed to optimise rider performance but Forge takes that philosophy further still.

To explain the concept, the very same working group that helped in the development of Forge were on hand at our launch event, on 5th October. Namely, director Guy Pearson, bike designer Scott Decker and lead bike-fitter Nas Karimi. We were pleased to welcome both familiar and new faces to our Pearson store, many of whom had been fitted by us in the past and whose data contributed to the project.

With more than two thousand precision bike fits to our name, the dataset that shaped Forge was broad and extended well beyond those attendees on the night. It included bike-fit data from male and female riders, ranging from their early 20s to late 70s; riders small and tall, many of whom are out there most days, cycling in an optimised position thanks to Pearson’s perfect balancing of speed, comfort and control.

Beyond the benefits of Forge’s unique geometry and sleek aero lines, we highlighted the additional features that make Forge a bike suitable for every type of road riding. These include the premium quality Toray carbon fibre (a mid-size, number 3 frame weighs in at just 886g), clearance for up to 36mm tyres, fully integrated cables, hidden mudguard mounts for all-weather use, along with multiple bottle mounts and in-built comfort.

To finish, a choice of Shimano groupsets and our range of alloy or carbon wheels means each bike is individually hand-built to precise rider specification. Every Forge bike is created through either a virtual or in-store fit, the outcome of which will see a rider through a decade of optimised cycling and beyond.
